Google Doodle 450th Anniversary Of St. Basil’s Cathedral
Back on July 12, Google honoured the 450th anniversary of one of the older and most recognized churhces in the world, St. Basil’s Cathedral church in Moscow, built on the Red Square between 1555–61.
This doodle got us to thinking, that with religious dates of recognition, how does Google decide what is worthy of getting the attention, and what religions or holidays do not. This particular doodle was posted in Canada, where there are many Russians to celebrate, however, there is always a fine line between religion and the online activity of Google, that makes the debate very interesting in terms of what is worthy of mentioning and what is not!
